miscarriage | pregnancy after loss | NICU

a story of hope

As new Florida residents, The More Family never could have anticipated the season of suffering they would endure in a one-year period.

“I just pray that I don't turn this grief into anger. I pray for fertility. I pray that I don't let life's distractions get in the way of my grieving.” The family’s second miscarriage prompted Veronica to request bereavement support. Veronica didn’t know it at the time, but the Lord was lining up our ministry to walk her through her miscarriage, pregnancy after loss, and a 2-month stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Veronica, Joe, and little Luna received 3 bereavement support packages over a 9 month period and then when they learned they were expecting, we shared a pregnancy after loss devotional to navigate the complexities of grief and joy.

“The care packages continued, personalized to our situation. We knew we were not alone. I was given so many uplifting and encouraging books to help me on this journey- my second time doing pregnancy after loss. I was so much better equipped to handle it this time. I felt like I had so much support, despite the fact that I had moved away from most of my family.”

When their son, Enzo, arrived prematurely at just 28 weeks, Veronica shares: “Jessika met with me in the hospital and sat with me, prayed with me, and even cried with me. In that moment, it felt like Jesus was with me. During the whole NICU journey, her and her team always checked on us. They made customized cards to hang up in the NICU as a constant remind of God’s promises. Through the ups and downs, their prayers for our family and Enzo continued. I am so immensely grateful for this ministry. They have given us so much love and support and brought us closer to the Lord.”
